Egg Drop 2020
All the videos I got are in this montage enjoy
Update: Video submission extended to April 18th!
Hey everyone, I’m Matthew, an 8th grader at Essex Middle School in Vermont. For part of distance learning my teacher challenged us to come up with a STEM project that we could do while home and I’ve decided to invite everyone to a virtual Egg Drop Challenge. I hoped this would be a fun project for everyone while we're stuck at home. I hope people of all ages will participate. And if you have any questions, please email me at eggdrop2020@gmail.com. Don't forget to invite all your friends or your even your favorite celebrity to join in!
Here’s how to participate:
1. Get an egg
2. Use some things around the house like what’s in your recycling and put together a container for your egg that will protect it from breaking
3. Take a video of your egg dropping from the highest height you can safely AND tell us if it broke or not
4. Email the video of your egg dropping to eggdrop2020@gmail.com by 10:00am EST on Saturday, April 18, 2020.
5. (Optional) Fill out this for with info about your egg drop egg drop form
Here are the rules: Have Fun, Stay Safe, and Don’t Copy Ideas from the Internet, but you can use them for inspiration
I’ll take all the videos, including my own, and create a montage to show my teacher. Let’s have fun while we’re all social distancing at home and see how many people we can reach!
*If you don't want or have an egg to use, feel free to use another object or food that could break easily. Other ideas would be an old Christmas ornament or light bulb, but make sure if you are using glass, that you wrap it in a plastic bag first so if it breaks it will be easy to pick up and you won't hurt yourself. If you are using glass, make sure you have parental supervision.
